Cancer Support Community Arizona is starting programs in Flagstaff. These will include evidenced-based support groups, movement, therapeutic arts, health, nutrition, and education seminars. Programs are designed to boost your immune system, increase feelings of hope, control, and connection – ultimately improving your quality of life.

Our services are always at no charge to those affected by cancer and their loved ones.

Newcomer Meeting

If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, we invite you to become part of our community.  Join us at a Newcomer Meeting to become a member or learn about our comprehensive program that includes offerings of support, healthy lifestyle, education, social connection and resource and referrals.

Cancer Support Group at NACA

These groups provide support by meeting others who have been impacted by cancer. In these groups you explore ways of dealing with the stresses of cancer and how to become an empowered advocate for yourself. Our support groups are all facilitated by licensed mental health professionals.  An interview is required for group inclusion. Please call (928) 286-3745 to set up a time.

Program Name: Therapeutic Journaling

Sue Meyn, M C, has been promoting journal writing as a tool for personal growth and self-care for many years. She prefers the term “therapeutic writing” believing It better explains the benefits inherent in its use. Research supports the effectiveness of writing to reduce hypertension and increase immune system functioning as well as many other benefits.

  • Date: Tuesdays, June 18 – August 6
  • Time: 1 – 3 pm

Program Name: Gentle Yoga

This class is designed to focus on breath work and gentle movement. Learn relaxing postures and modified moves at a slow pace. This class is great for those who are new to yoga as well as those who have restrictions due to treatment. All yoga mats, blankets and blocks are supplied, but participants are free to bring their own. Parking permits will be emailed after registration is confirmed.

Coconino Community College

We are now offering Therapeutic Journaling and Gentle Yoga at Coconino Community College. Participants who attend programs at this location are given parking passes.
