PHOENIX, AZ (March 28, 2020) – Cancer Support Community Arizona (CSCAZ) now offers live streaming support groups, exercise, cooking, art classes, and webinars for cancer patients and their families. The CSCAZ phone lines are open to welcome and support anyone impacted by cancer through nearly 80 programs and resources. In compliance with COVID-19 advisories from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Arizona Department of Health, CSCAZ program locations in Phoenix and Flagstaff are temporarily unavailable for visitation. However, we are extending virtual wellness programming to all families, not just those impacted by cancer, in response to the current high stress environment experienced by many as well as a need to find meaningful activities to reduce this stress as a family.

Cancer Support Community Arizona program participants now have access to daily support groups in real-time using the private, HIPAA compliant Telehealth platform, Zoom. Wellness and Educational workshops are live-streamed, and the schedule is available on the CSCAZ website.

As always, these services are 100% free of charge to anyone impacted by cancer, are led by licensed or certified professionals and are evidenced based to reduce stress and anxiety as well as increase a sense of well-being and control.
CSCAZ welcomes new program participants every day. Cancer patients, their families and caregivers who are new to
CSCAZ services, can visit www.cscaz.org to learn more, or call (602) 712-1006. Updates and educational postings are always available on FaceBook or the CSCAZ website.

“CSCAZ is taking a pro-active and informed stance regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19 health threat. I am extremely proud of how quickly our team has responded to seamlessly transition our free group support, counseling and classes for cancer patients and families to the virtual space for as long as needed” said Debbie DiCarlo, CEO of CSCAZ. “The entire CSCAZ staff is also acutely aware, as parents and as caring community members in AZ, that many families could benefit from our wellness activities and therefore, for the first time in our history; we are opening those up to ALL families. Our entire staff remains in place and committed to do all we can to support our community, especially in this time of uncertainty.”
