FREE Camp for Kids Impacted by Cancer

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Saturday, June 23, 2018) – Cancer Support Community Arizona is holding a free camp for children ages 7-12, June 25-27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their offices in Phoenix. The camp is designed for children who have been diagnosed with cancer or have a close loved one with cancer. There will be emotional and therapeutic activities, as well as, fun STEM activities in partnership with The Walter Hive and FastMed Urgent Care. Cancer Support Community Arizona is located at 360 East Palm Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85004 in Uptown Phoenix.

“When I was 6 my mom got cancer. I’m 8 now and she’s feeling much better,” said Julia, a Kids Support Kamp Participant in April 2018. “I really like learning how I can help my mom when she doesn’t feel well and all the fun activities we do here together,” Julia added.

Media is invited to attend and speak daily from noon- 3 p.m. with the children to hear how the Kamp is positively impacting  them, or staff from Cancer Support Community Arizona to learn more about their free programs and services. Throughout the rest of the summer, Cancer Support Community Arizona has the following free events for children, teens and adults impacted by cancer to attend:
• Indoor Family BBQ: Saturday, July 21
• Teen Pamper Day: Sunday, July 29
• Teen Back to School Bash: Sunday, August 12
