Between our board, staff and YPC, you have seen a ton of new faces at CSCAZ lately! But who are all these people and what does the YPC even stand for?
The Cancer Support Community staff are here every day to directly support our programs. Sometimes that is through implementing and managing the programs, through keeping the lights on, or keeping our bank account healthy, our team of 13 works hard for our participants.
Marie is our new Hospital Navigator. She spends most of her time at Dignity Health at St. Joe’s Hospital working with oncologists. She meets wtih cancer patients to ensure they are aware of the many resources available to them while they are on their journey.
Manager of Facilities, Outreach & Volunteers
Karl is our new Manager of Facilities, Outreach & Volunteers. He is already working hard at keeping our home on Palm Lane in tip top shape and will soon begin working closer with our volunteers and program team to reach more people impacted by cancer.
All nonprofits are governed by a board of directors. Board members oversee our organization as a whole. They are responsible to hiring and managing our CEO, validating our financial statements, and helping us manage large scale projects.
Though we don’t have any new board members to report on this month, we have had a ton of exciting new professionals join our board.
Young Professionals Council (YPC)
Our Young Professionals Council (YPC) is a group of emerging community leaders who want to use their influence to give back to their community. Our YPC is committed to volunteerism and fundraising for Cancer Support Community Arizona. Though they facilitate several fundraising efforts throughout the year, the group’s signature event is our annual Trivia Night in the spring.
