A Message from Our CEO and Board Chair!
Dear Cancer Support Community Arizona Stakeholders:
We are tremendously grateful that Cancer Support Community Arizona thrived despite another challenging year with a continued pandemic. As we look forward, our hearts are filled with hope and excitement about the future. We have re-launched our Youth, Teen and Family programs, because we know that youth impacted by cancer are especially vulnerable to depression, anxiety, loneliness, and fear. We are building new partnerships and are extending our reach in the state, including in Tuba City to serve indigenous families in northern Arizona, and through our hybrid (in-person and virtual) program offerings. We are now offering programming out of St. Patrick Catholic Community’s House of Mercy in Scottsdale, and for the first time in our history, have partnered with Check for A Lump to offer free mammography screenings at our Phoenix campus.
These are just a few examples of the partnerships that breath life and health into CSCAZ because we know that Community is Stronger than Cancer. We can’t make a meaningful impact alone. Our community includes the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors and community partners. We can’t imagine our future without you, thank you for helping us ensure no one faces cancer alone.

At the beginning of 2020, my life changed forever… and I am not talking about Covid 19. I was diagnosed with Metastatic Thyroid Cancer. I was overwhelmed with fear, loneliness, and dread of what lay in my future. Somehow I found Cancer Support Community Arizona, a right shining star in the darkness. They show up every single day for me in spite of this Covid 19 pandemic we all face. They offer daily support groups, Yoga, Qi Chong, Book Club, Thai Chi, Fun Events, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Cooking For Cancer classes, to name a few — all through an accessible Zoom platform. I am never alone with their support. I am eternally grateful for this organization.

As a cancer survivor and the daughter of a cancer survivor, I know firsthand how a cancer diagnosis impacts a family. I wanted to give back to an organization that supports anyone impacted by cancer, including family members. I volunteer at Cancer Support Community Arizona because I know it truly makes a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer, here in the Valley and across the state.”
